You heard it here first! Our factory in China has re-opened. I did a little dance when I heard this because it means things are (slowly) getting back up and running.
The factory we're using to make the lunchbox is located in the south of China, close to Hong Kong. As you know, over Chinese New Year (CNY), all factories close across China and workers return home to their province for celebrations. Because the forced closure (due to Coronavirus), was an extension of the CNY holiday, a lot of workers are still unable to travel back to their workplace. While our factory has re-opened, they currently don't have all staff on site and therefore are not running at full capacity (yet). They too, are feeling the effects of COVID-19 and they're keen to get our Boxi lunchboxes into production. So please know, the factory, the engineers and myself are all working hard to get these cool lunchboxes to you as fast as we can.
I’ll post an updated timeline soon, once I have confirmation from the factory and the engineers.
In the meantime, I’m working on the lunchbox packaging & design, talking with retailers and planning the logistics around landing the lunchboxes and shipping them out to you. If you haven’t confirmed your colour choice yet, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or drop me a line if you have any questions.
Thank you for sticking by me on this journey – I don’t think anyone could have predicted that a global virus would affect our timeline. And I thank you for waiting for the lunchbox.
